I’ve been thinking a lot recently about what exactly I want this blog to be about. Is this blog about music, writing, productivity, racial justice? If someone asks me what I write about on my blog, how do I answer them? If you told someone to check out my blog, what would you tell them that I write about? I can’t answer for you, but I’d love to know what you would say.

One of my favorite content creators, Curtis McHale, talked about this in one of his more recent newsletters. He has a YouTube channel and blog where he talks about books, productivity, technology, and whatever else interests him at the time. In that newsletter he asks a very similar question about his content. He asks what it is that he creates and why he creates the things that he does. Ultimately, he says to, “Forget the niche and worry about your passion” and for me, I think that’s what this blog is about.

This blog as a whole is less about any one particular subject but about the many passions that I have at any given time. While you could say that my overall niche is music, I think it’s music and…everything else. Which is exactly the way that I like it to be. This blog is broadly specific and that is okay. I’m going to continue to do what I do which is focus on my passions and interests. Here’s to many more posts about whatever I decide!
