Playing with People
It’s likely not a surprise, but I miss playing with people in person. I play a lot as a soloist which I love, but I love playing with people even more. There’s something so incredibly special about making music with other people and I miss it. I’m super fortunate to have a duo partner that is willing to make distance collaborations and work on these super outlandish ideas. I’ve also been in a position where I have been able to play with people, but virtually.
Live, virtual collaborations are new for me. I did a few last year over Zoom and they were so much fun! Technology has allowed me to participate in these really awesome virtual performances where we are all playing at the same time.
Currently, I’m rehearsing for chamber-improv show that will run in April. I’ll share more about that once it is closer, but I just wanted to reminisce about this after we had rehearsal today.
